These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Florent Code League platform and website (together, the "Service"), operated by Florent Venture Partners ("we", "us", "the organizer"). By creating an account, joining a team, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.
The game rules, API documentation, scoring methodology, competition schedule, deadlines, announcements, and any official clarifications published on the Florent Code League website or official Discord server form part of these Terms. In the event of ambiguity, the Organizer's interpretation is final.
We may modify, postpone, suspend, or cancel any aspect of the competition, including the schedule, format, rules, prize distribution, or finals, if reasonably necessary for operational, security, legal, or technical reasons.
Participants may use AI coding tools unless expressly prohibited by the competition rules. Participants remain solely responsible for all submitted code.
By participating, you grant us the right to use your name, username, team name, university or employer (if provided), competition ranking, match replays, and photographs or recordings from official Florent Code League events for promotional, historical, and editorial purposes.
Decisions regarding eligibility, rankings, prizes, disqualification, and interpretation of these Terms are final.
Participants must be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms, your participation in the Competition, and the Privacy Policy. We may request written parental or guardian consent before allowing participation or before awarding any prize. Each individual may hold only one account. The Florent Code League is open to participants worldwide; there is no nationality or residency restriction.
Accounts are created exclusively via Discord sign-in (OAuth). We do not offer email/password registration or any other sign-in method. By registering, you authorize us to receive your Discord username and associated profile information from Discord, and you agree to keep your Discord account secure, as it controls access to your Florent Code League account. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
Teams may have between 1 and 4 members. Team roles (owner/member) determine who can manage team settings, invite members, and submit code.
You retain all ownership rights in the source code and other materials you submit ("Submissions"). By submitting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, execute, display, and distribute your Submissions and any resulting match replays for the purposes of operating the competition — including running matches, generating leaderboard/ladder standings, and showcasing results (e.g., in replays, streams, or promotional material about the competition). Match replays may be retained indefinitely for historical, integrity, and archival purposes, even after you delete your account or a submission. Re-uploading a new version of your Submission or deleting it removes it from active competition use, per our retention rules in the Privacy Policy, but does not retract replays already generated from earlier matches.
You warrant that your Submissions are your own original work (or that of your teammates) and do not knowingly infringe any third party's rights. You must not submit code that:
We run an automated, AI-assisted security scan of submitted code to detect sandbox-escape attempts and similar exploit patterns before or after matches run; see our Privacy Policy for how this data is processed. Flagged Submissions may be reviewed by staff and may result in disqualification under Section 9.
The platform may offer an optional AI-powered coding assistant within the code editor to help you debug or improve your bot. If enabled, your code and chat messages are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response; usage is subject to a daily token limit per account. This is a convenience tool provided "as is" — we make no guarantee about the accuracy, availability, or suitability of its suggestions, and you remain solely responsible for the code you submit.
We may disqualify a team, remove a Submission, or suspend or terminate an account, at our discretion, for:
Where practical, we will attempt to notify the affected team of the reason for enforcement action, though we are not obligated to do so before taking action to protect the integrity of the competition.
The Florent Code League offers a cash prize pool, distributed to winning team(s) according to the rules published on the competition website. Unless all members of a winning team agree in writing to a different split, prize winnings are divided equally among the team's members. Prize recipients are responsible for any taxes or reporting obligations arising from their prize in their own jurisdiction. We may require identity or eligibility verification before releasing a prize. If a prize winner is under 18, we may require parental or guardian consent and any documentation reasonably necessary to award the prize in compliance with applicable law.
A number of top-performing qualifying teams will be invited to an in-person final event in Stockholm, Sweden. Invited participants are responsible for arranging and funding their own travel and, where applicable, visa arrangements to attend; we may provide guidance or partial support at our discretion, but this is not guaranteed and does not form part of these Terms unless separately confirmed in writing.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, lost competition opportunities, or lost prizes due to technical failure, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time (see Privacy Policy for what happens to your data). We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or to protect the Service or other users.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify active participants (e.g., via Discord or email). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
